Sophie Anyomoker for the UNAA-07 Presidential Candidate!

“Put the Tigeress in your tank!” vote Sophie Anyomoker for the Ugandan North American Association (UNAA) -07 Presidential Candidate!

I am delighted to officially announce my candidacy for the office of President of UNAA-07 in San Francisco .

“I was born in 1973, in Gulu, Northern Uganda but I have always been on-the-run from my real homeland like a criminal. My first run was during Amin’s dictatorship when my parents relocated to Siaya , Kenya in 1976 as refugees. We returned to a peaceful Uganda in 1979 after Idi Amin overthrow. In 1986 we returned to Siaya , Kenya , again as refugees, when Museveni took power. In 1989 we moved to our new ‘permanent’ home in Canada . I have been on the run for the past 21 years and still counting! My wish is to one day go back to my village and enjoy my beloved Acholi mother land.”

Ugandan North American Association (UNAA) was established in 1988.Last years Uganda North America's Association (UNAA) Annual Convention was held in New York City, from September 1st - 4th 2006.

The organization is an equal opportunity Association. It does not discriminate, for membership purposes, on the basis of race, color, religion, ethnic or tribal affiliation. The Association is non-denominational, non sectarian, non political, secular and not-for-profit. In these Bylaws and Articles of Incorporation, and henceforth, in any official writing of the Association or public address, whenever reference is made to a masculine gender, reference will also be made to a feminine gender, thus he/she, his/hers, the Group was guided by the objectives of UNAA as laid down in the Constitution of the Association:

Article 2 of the Constitution outlines the objectives of UNAA

as:

(a) To stimulate and encourage nationwide acquaintance and

fellowship among members in North America;

(b) To develop through research, discussion and exchange of

information a better understanding of problems facing members;

(c) To encourage business relationships and interaction;

(d) To promote unity and friendship;

(e) To promote and foster social, cultural, economic, and

philanthropic activities and share the same with North Americans

or other groups; And

(f) To address needs peculiar to members of the Association.

We also recognized the fact that best business practices demand that

any organization be adaptive to changing conditions. This is very true of

UNAA. You can visit their website at.
